Below is a portion of an announcement to application designers using the AppDesigner platform:

"04/29/2010
Facebook Policy Issues
Dear Appbank users, At 16:00 PST today 4/29 Facebook's policy team disabled all apps on our network,

including App Designer, due to what they cite as policy violations. They claim we are promoting spammy

behavior and misleading users. We have taken the staunch position that all our apps are in compliance and

have demanded that they reinstate all apps on our network ASAP."

App developers using this platform contribute the absolute best and most creative applications to facebook

users. Without warning facebook administrators have suspended all applications and fan pages created with

this fluid and user friendly platform. Facebook has offered no explanation to developers receiving this cyber

-slap, and numerous inquiries have gone unanswered.

AppDesigner&AppBank pay a portion of advertising dollars to app creators as an incentive to make high

quality apps. Judging from the popularity of AppD quizzes and gifting apps, the platform does attract

intelligent and imaginative users whose apps are superior in both concept and content. Millions of facebook

users worldwide have proven this through the sheer number of installs and eCPM's (effective cost/1000

monthly impressions) generated.

Without an official statement from facebook, one can only conclude that money is the motivation for this

unwarranted suspension, and that 'misleading users' translates to 'screw the users, that's OUR money'

We as users believe that facebook's obscurity on this issue is intentional. Facebook is the 800 lb gorilla in

the room, big enough to sit and wait until the noise dies down and the 'problem' goes away.

We as facebook users demand the reinstatement of AppDesigner and all applications created with it. It was

facebook that initially approved the platform, and it is up to facebook to be fair and forthcoBelow is a portion of an announcement to application designers using the AppDesigner platform:

It never ceases to amaze me the last office I worked at even 50 year old people boasting about how many 'friends' they had (especially after the weekend). The only thing funnier was how naive they were in what they posted on their portal of celebrity (or their partners did as a 'couple') and made publicly viewable.

Then of course others with malicious intent use this info for chinese whispers and propoganda, in particular the HR department. So it goes on and on. DON'T even get me started on Twitter! NO I don't want to know you TWAT.

So here is a tshirt I thought was apt. Seems the guy also has a thing against Twitter as well.

"Facebook is awesome
u guys r just stupid and have no life
so u make a facebook haters website
ok that makes u cool…if u hate it so much
forget about it and shut the hell up"

I hate it becase I see it as a social disease. It offers no opportunity for meaningfull dialog between friends, and can in some cases be quit damaging to certain relationships as has been the case with myself. The problem is that it is treated as a public forum to discuss peoples personal lives. Somehow this has become normal, which I find to be completly flabbergasting. The problems this creates are exacerbated by the fact that we are out of the loop on much of the dialog between the many people we interact with, allowing things to be taken out of context. This breakdown in communication leads to conflict, and in some cases will cause damage to a relationship.

I'll admit that in a way it has a certain amount of value to a person such as myslef, as a way communicating with those who I don't see on a regular basis. friends or family which live on the other side of the country. Even though I cannot engage in any meaningfull dialog with them via facebuke, I am still able to feel a visual connectedness with them that I wouldn't have otherwise.

And I suspect that many of us would like to use it as a forum to engage in meaningfull discussion, which would foster our relationships. but it's simply not designed to do that. It's designed to work like a daily news reel, keeping us informed by offering us two second blurbs "detailing"... what is going on with our friends lives. Unfortunately it has about as much value in that regard as that which makes it into print in our daily news papers, which is to say little if any at all.

The fact is that crapbook only works for the most part to do the exact opposite of what it is supposed to do. And I think that most of us need to re-examine the meaning of the word connected. These networks that we have constructed on sites like facecrack are similar to that of an edifice built out of a deck of cards without any foundation to support it. So as to say that they completely lack any amount of cohesion.

but what do I know. I'm stupis and have no life. I'm just a guy that joined a facebook haters club to feel cool. My greivences and concerns have no value really.. I guess I'll just shut the hell up now.
